Michael Smith-Davenport is a dancer and choreographer in the Lansing area. He grew up dancing in the Lansing School District before embarking to Western Michigan University and Chicago afterwards to further his studies he has danced works by Lew Christiansen, Rennie Harris and Kirsten Harvey. His multiracial background has lead him to emphasize the cross-contamination of cultures, ideas and structures in his work. Outside of dance, he works in foster care. He is also interested in the invocation of cultural intelligence within his dancers as well as his audience. If you’re coming to my rehearsal, make sure you bring drive, passion and stamina!
